Inside the Sundance Film Festival 2024

The Sundance Institute was founded by Robert Redford in 1981 with the goal to encourage emerging voices in “American Storytellers”. Sundance Institute has been managing stories for the screen. It is a “non-profit program”. It creates platforms for more than “1000 artists” each year by supporting their work. This festival has introduced some of the most record- breaking films of the past three decades. The Sundance Film Festival is generally held in the month of January; it gathers artists and audiences for the premiers of various works like short films, documentaries etc. This Institute hosts a variety of public programs and represents the original voices and inspiring new ideas. It supports the makers to create their own story, independently. In the annual show dramatic and documentary features, short films, each with unique concepts are included. The daily filmmaker conversation, panel discussions and other events are also presented. It is hosted in Park City, Utah, United states.

19th year of the Chiaroscuro International Film Series

The Chiaroscuro International Film Series, a beloved fixture of Grand Rapids' cultural landscape, returns with a vibrant selection of global cinema. Founded in 2005, its mission of cultural connectivity and celebrating the human spirit endures. Spencer Everhart, the Board President, echoes the excitement for its comeback. Every other Sunday, January through March, audiences are treated to diverse international films, fostering understanding and appreciation. Run by volunteers and supported by local entities, admission remains free, ensuring accessibility for all. Stranger Things set to return with 5th and final season

Stranger Things Season 5 is final to be released and it is going to be its last season. It was to be released by late 2023 but due to the Hollywood strike the production was on hold. The creators said that the writing was still going on and the production will start soon. The production has started and is roughly to be released by late 2025. The fans are to expect emotional and teary theme from this season as it will be the last one. But many fans are expecting more spin off series or movies after season 5. The creators have said that there are many untold stories and adventures.

Writers’ Workshop Festival at LA

The Center Theatre Group announces Writer’s Workshop Festival 2024!The Los Angeles audiences have the opportunity to watch 6 different and new plays. The Center Theatre Group has given the opportunity to different writers to present their plays at L.A. Writer’s Workshop Festival which will take place from Friday 26th January to Sunday 28th January, 2024. Tickets are available online. The venue for the Festival is Kirk Douglas Theatre. Since 2005 CTG has supported playwrights to present new plays at the workshop.

Indian New Wave and Parallel Cinema

The ‘Parallel Cinema’ also known as ‘The New Wave’, was the shift towards a completely new theme that was being adapted in the Indian Cinema, that contained problems which existed within the society. The first wave started from 1952 and was prominent till 1992. The popularity increased again from the year 1998 and is still being liked by the people. It started with the changes that were made in the Bengali movie industry and slowly it was incorporated into the other areas of Indian Cinemas. It is a concept that is in touch with the reality, as well as has topics of society and politics represented in the films.
