From the shine of juicy chicken to the steam rising from a bowl of ramen and the condensation of cold drinks. Anime artists use their creativity, they exaggerate shapes, colours and to make the food look more scrumptious and enticing in real life. Some of the anime series are dedicated to food showcasing culinary delights and exploring the themes. Kill la Kill is a parody of shonen anime tropes, throwing pretty much everything but the kitchen sink in a show that is full to the brim with amazing animation and battles. It also features takoyaki quite heavily, which looks quite delectable indeed. Takoyaki is one of the most popular forms of street food in Japan, consisting of a simple fried ball of dough with octopus inside it. It’s extremely tasty and has become one of the most popular fast-food items in the country for obvious reasons.

Anime food is based on real-world cuisines, especially Japanese cuisine which is more demanding and popular for its aesthetic presentation. The appeal behind anime food lies in its ability to engage various senses, evoke emotional responses, and showcase a connection to culture. It’s not about just making the food look delicious, it’s about creativity, and it’s about creating rich which makes viewers experience it on a deeper level.
