“The Buzz of the town”
The main issue of the Oscar Nominations, was to not nominate Margot Robbie for her role of ‘Barbie’ in the movie as she should be nominated for, as well as overlooking Greta Gerwig and not nominating her for ‘Best Director’, appreciating her extraordinary work for the movie as well.

‘Barbie’ – What did the movie entail?
In the movie, Barbie actually sets out to know what the real world is about, and why she is experiencing changes in her life, like ‘falling down instead of floating’ and ‘flat feet instead of her iconic heels’. Eventually, she finds out about the real world and that how different and difficult it is to live in the ‘reality’. The movie also has reflected on topics like, ‘Feminism’ and ‘Patriarchy in the World’. The male dominancy was so prevalent that it made its way into the Barbie World, though in the end the world was brought back into its normal state.

Comments on the Oscar nominations:

‘Barbie’ movie actor Ryan Gosling-

“But there is no Ken without Barbie, and there is no Barbie movie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, the two people most responsible for this history-making, globally-celebrated film.No recognition would be possible for anyone on the film, without their talent, grit and genius. To say that I’m disappointed that they are not nominated in their respective category would be an understatement.”

Margot Robbie’s comments on Oscar nominations.

Many people were upset with the nominations. Some said that even though the movie is about female equality and that how men should not be dominating and suppressing women, the exact thing which should not be happening, happened.

Margot Robbie stated that her motive was to “affect culture” and how it was the “biggest reward” that came out of the movie. The movie was about how Ken, inspired by the real world, wanted to create a world for himself, and make himself the center of attraction. In the same way, a person commented that the entire situation feels like it was deliberately done in order to prove that the thing that happened in the movie is happening in real life also.
