“Animal” is a 2023 action thriller that is directed and edited by the gifted Sandeep Reddy Vanga. It is a powerful force in the fast-paced world of Indian films. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Murad Khetani, and Pranay Reddy Vanga, this film is a visual feast that showcases the united strength of T-Series Films, Bhadrakali Pictures, and Cine1 Studios.
Among the film’s star-studded cast are the endearing Rashmika Mandanna, the dynamic Bobby Deol, the magnetic Ranbir Kapoor, the timeless Anil Kapoor, and the talented Tripti Dimri. “Animal” fundamentally examines the relationships between retaliation, family, and metamorphosis. The opening sequence of the film establishes the narrative drive and captures the audience’s interest right away. Even though the plot is centered around retaliation, it manages to give this well-worn cliché a new lease on life. The taunting grasp that the screenplay develops early on keeps spectators at the edge of their seats throughout.
The main cast of the movie gives outstanding performances, each of them giving their roles life. In particular, Bobby Deol proves his acting talent by shining brilliantly without saying a word. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is worthy of applause for his outstanding ideas and execution. His skill in writing a story that doesn’t waver in intensity is quite impressive. The music and background score blend in well with the narrative, making the whole experience better. Despite the fact that “Animal” is excellent in many ways, some of the dialogues—particularly that given by Ranbir Kapoor’s character—may come off as a little too theatrical. Nonetheless, it’s possible that the filmmaker made this intentional decision to highlight the character’s mental condition.
With unexpected fame and a blockbuster performance, this movie also faced a controversy because of the image and showcase of women as a commodity object. The disrespect issue shown in the movie was overlapped by the blockbuster success of the movie, especially the song ‘Jamal Kudu’ which got unexpected love and fan-following. The controversy with this movie was that of using women as a commodity object by the leading actor. Women were also disrespected in the storyline. On the other hand, male gender was given extra importance and respect, by showing heroic figure of the hero (protagonist), villain, and other male supportive actors. Also, opposition of some Indian traditions was seen. But, because of the fame and success that the movie had gained, it has overlapped the controversy and some other issues that had come, when the success of the film was at its peak. So, with ups and downs faced by ‘Animal ‘, it will be remembered in box office for its success and love it got by audience.
To sum up, fans of the action and thriller genre should not miss “Animal”. It has a compelling and intriguing plot, excellent acting, and deft direction. It’s a cinematic experience that explores the intricacies of revenge, metamorphosis, and human connections, giving the viewers enough to think about, long after the credits have rolled.
